Whether your off on your hols, or raving it up at a festival this summer, a gorgeous tan has got to be on every girl and boys wish list. From pumps to sprays, and lotions to tan towels we have road tested the best ways to fake it, saving you on all the hassle and orange palms.
The instant tan, perfect for a night out, popping your legs on show, but we don't suggest skinny dipping. Great for slap dash tanning, and as it only takes a few minutes to pop on and then get out, we rate the wash off bronzing as the easiest to apply, with minimum risk and instant impact. The only downside is that the next day you have to do it all over again.
At only £1.95 the 2true Wash Off Skin Bronzer (Superdrug) is a bargain, although the little bottle only supplies a couple of applications. The colour is deep and dark, with minimal Orange tones. We would recommend this to inexperienced tanners, and those who are in need of a quick fix.
Gradual tanning is a longer lasting alternative, yet still an easy option. With added moisture, to give you softer skin as well as a natural glow, you can apply your tan for a few days to build up the desired affect. The long lasting natural colour is perfect for those who want a subtle tan, although this can be intensified over a few more days. This is more of an investment tan, one that can be worn the whole year round. Tantruth Secret Sun infused with Shea butter and avocado, is our choice for subtle sunning. Around £4.95 (tantruth.co.uk).
For easy application the quick drying spray tan from Boots No7 (£12.50) is our winner. For a deeper summer tan, and with only one day for full development, this spray on formulation allows all areas of the body to be reached, and with a natural yet rich tone, this product takes the hassle out of serious tanning.
