You may have noticed people doing this recently. It’s cool don’t you know. Or is it?
Wayfarers themselves are never going to go out of fashion so technically Wayfarers without lenses should be in too, right? As you may have guessed this is something I am as yet, undecided on.
Some harder to find, original Wayfarers have clear glass lenses – this may be where the new trend has sprung from. But, in these recessioned-out times, beggars can’t be choosers.
Weighing up the pro’s and con’s – on the plus side: Geek Chic is what we are all raving about at the moment, glasses frame the face and… if you take out the lenses you accentuate the eyes and can actually see where you are going at night (that’s surely got to be a good thing).

On the downside: confidence is key to pulling off this look - so if in doubt, leave it out.
The verdict: why not buy a cheap pair from Primark (£2), pop out the lenses and give them a go. If you don’t like the lens-less look, pop the lenses back in and wear them the traditional way. If you love the look, consider buying the clear lens Wayfarers for heavens sake, they look so much better. Voila.
